Picture 1
This was a picture that I took for Pattern and Texture. This is a picture of a rope on a dock in Berkley. I took this somewhat early in the morning when the sun had just come out. For this picture I focused in on the texture of the rope, making that what is in focus the most. The way all of the strands of rope are twisted leads your eyes from one corner of the picture to the next. I like the way that you can almost see the rope that is underneath the rope that I took the picture of. I also like of how you can see a little bit of the texture from the wood and also the water above the rope.I did not think of rule of thirds when i took this picture, I took the picture the way I felt that it would look best When I took this picture I was above the rope, looking down, with my phone on a tilt, about one foot away from the rope.

This is a picture that I took for Painting with Light. This picture was taken buy putting a camera on a stand and making so the aperature stays open for 10 seconds to collect as much light as possible while the room was completely dark. We got this affect by having students spin sets christmas lights. One student with the long red lights stood in the back and spun the lights in a circle. A second student stood more towards the front and spun the white lights in a smaller circle. I like the fact that when you look at the picture your eyes are immediately drawn to the white section in the corner of the page, and then the circles created by the red lights seem to take your eyes off the white lights and you follow that out to the distance untill the picture is over.
Picture 3
This one of the first pictures that I took this year. This was for our first assignment, Line and Shape. This was of a pink flower from a plant in my yard. I like the way that half of this photo is kind of dark and the other half is bright with sunlight. I also like of how everything around the flower is a different, not as bright color then it, so it stands out a lot. I also like of how with the sunlight, the petals of the flower look smooth. To take this picture, I used the rule of thirds, and put my focal point more towards the top, rather then the center. I held the camera lens above the flower pointing down towards it.
Picture 4
Out of all of my pictures that I've taken so far, this is proabably one of my favorites. This picture is of an old baseball that I took on a stand with studio lights. For me, my favorite part of this picture is that you can see the texture and cracks in the baseball, I like that it shows how old and worn out it is. I like the balance of positive and negative space, between the shadow and baseball and the lighter area around it. I like the shape of the shadow and how long it looks. I also like the way the studio lights created a warm and inviting effect to the colors in this photo. I myself, play softball, so this also has a little bit of meaning to me. To take this photo I was few inches away fromt he baseball with the camera lens a little bit higher. I did not think of using the rule of thirds.
Picture 5
This is a picture from the Depth of Field Assignment. This is a picture that I took of a board in school that had been spraypainted. I like the way that the lighting in the picture is a little darker, i think that it almost makes the wording stick out more. I also like that you can see the texture of the board and of how the letters seem to fade out, or get less in focus, as you look down the board. Another thing that I like is the fact that there doesnt seem to be too much of the color of the board or too much of the lettering, the picture seems balanced. To take this picture, I put the lense of the camera on the board, and had it look down the board. I did not think of the rule of thirds when taking this picture.
Picture 6
This is a picture that I took for the assignment Shadow and Reflection. This was a picture of a paint brush that I took in class. I took this picture with a white poster board background, on a stand with studio lights. to take this picture I held the paint brush and then with my other hand took a picture with the camera. I held my camera higher then the paintbrush, looking down on it, and took the picture from a little bit of a distance. I like the way that you can almost see the grains of the wood and the texture of the bristles. I also like the way that you can see a little of reflection on the metal piece, and a little bit of dust on it as well. Another thing i really like about this is the shadow. I feel that the shadow really elongates the brush while kind of giving it a different shape. Because of the way that the lighting that I used was, it created a warm color scheme in the picture that I think is nice and draws you in.

This is apart of the photos that I took in New York City. I took these photos focusing on the buildings in the blue sky. To take this photo I was standing on the ground pointing my camera up. I like this photo because of the blue sky and the shapes of the building.
Picture 10
This is one of my favorite photos that I took in New York City. I took this photo standing on the ground pointing up to the sky. I love this photo because of the reflections in the buildings and the fact that the sky goes from light blue to darker blue.
Picture 11
This is a photo that I took in New York City, I took it from above the flowers pointing the camera down. This is a bunch of tulips in the middle of a street fair. I like this photo because you can see the flowers up closely and you don't really think about where it is.
